FAQs

What age should a baby start using a sippy cup?
Many babies start with a sippy cup around 6 months, alongside starting solids, though readiness varies. Look for signs your baby can sit supported and is interested in drinking from something other than a bottle or breast. Always check each cup's suggested starting age.

What's the difference between a sippy cup and a training cup?
The terms are often used interchangeably, though "training cup" sometimes refers specifically to 360°-style cups designed to be sipped from any point around the rim.

Straw cup or spout cup: which is better?
Both work. Many parents choose a straw sippy cup because it encourages a natural sipping action and is easy for babies to master, while spout and click-lid cups suit toddlers moving toward an open cup.

Are stainless steel sippy cups better than plastic ones?
Stainless steel cups tend to be more durable and don't hold odours or stains the way some plastics can over time. Insulated stainless steel cups also keep drinks cold or warm for longer, while plastic and Tritan cups are lighter for small hands.

How do I transition my baby from a bottle to a sippy cup?
Many parents introduce a sippy cup alongside bottle feeds around 6 months, then gradually replace more bottle feeds with cup drinking, rather than switching all at once.

Are sippy cups dishwasher safe?
Many are, but check the care instructions for each cup, especially for straw and valve parts, which sometimes need hand-washing to keep working properly.
