FAQs
Does the Ubbi Nappy Bin actually stop smells?
Yes. Unlike plastic bins that absorb odours over time, the Ubbi is made from powder-coated steel that doesn’t hold on to smells. Rubber seals lock odours inside, and the sliding lid minimises air movement each time you open it, so smells stay in the bin and out of the nursery. For best results, empty it regularly, especially in warmer weather, and consider wrapping dirty nappies in a small nappy bag first.
Do I need special bags for the Ubbi Nappy Bin?
No. The Ubbi Nappy Bin works with any standard kitchen bin liner or a reusable cloth liner, so you’re never locked into buying pricey refill cassettes. Ubbi does make its own nappy bin bags if you’d like a tailored fit, but they’re completely optional. It’s one of the main reasons parents choose Ubbi: lower ongoing costs and less plastic waste over time.
How many nappies does the Ubbi Nappy Bin hold?
The Ubbi holds up to 55 newborn nappies, or around 20 larger-size nappies, so you won’t be emptying it several times a day. Capacity varies with nappy size and brand, and it naturally holds fewer as your baby grows.
Is the Ubbi Nappy Bin child-safe?
Yes. The Ubbi has a built-in childproof lock that keeps curious little hands out of the bin, making it ideal for homes with crawlers and toddlers. The steel body is also sturdy and stable, and the sliding lid can be opened with one hand while you keep the other on your baby.
